    Description

    A8 Modified knife steel Pieces ~8 lb Forge.
    This was an industrial shear blade that we had annealed and cut up to use to make our own smaller shear blades. These are smaller end cut pieces or pieces where the original bolt holes are.  I spoke to the manufacturer and was told it was an A8 Modified steel of their proprietary blend. A8 is a tough steel and very durable. The shear it came from was used to shear steel in the range of 1/4” to 3/8”. A8 is desirable for making tough knife blades.  See the pictures for rough sizes.
