"Atari Basic Rev C" 8-bit Atari Cartridge 8K. Rare new Silver Cartridge. No Owners Manual.
Picture shows a Silver Label Basic cartridge with
a Brown Basic cartridge shell
. This auction is for the Silver Label Basic Cartridge which is Rev C . The old Brown Label Cartridge was Basic(Rev A) and is not included in this auction. Atari never sold Rev C Basic as a packaged cartridge but sold the chips in the parts department and built into them 65XE/130XE, XEGM and a few late 800XL computers.
Rev A Basic has a minor bug which almost never caused problems. Rev B
. was shipped in the XL Computers fixed that bug but introduced a new bug which was much worse than the one it fixed.
This cartridge, Rev C does not have those bugs.
When you plug a Basic cartridge into an Atari computer XL/XE with built in Basic the cartridge replaces the internal Basic.
